What is the INJ token?

INJ is the native token for the Injective ecosystem. The token serves several key functions within the ecosystem, including use as a medium of exchange, staking, and governance.

— Medium of Exchange INJ is used as default asset to facilitate the purchase and sale of goods and services between parties on the blockchain. Common examples are paying for transaction fees (gas), buying / selling NFTs, paying for trading fees, or depositing assets as collateral.

— Security & Staking: Injective is secured via staking. Validators and delegators can freely participate in the Injective network via staking. Additionally, INJ 3.0 set a schedule for quarterly decreases in the Supply Rate bounds, timed with the Bitcoin $BTC halving. Over two years, the lower bound will decrease by 25%, from 5% to 4%, and the upper bound will decrease by 30%, from 10% to 7%.

Together, these parameter adjustments increase INJ’s deflation rate by 400%.
