What is KUB Coin?

KUB Coin is the native token of the KUB Chain, designed with various utility functions:

KUB Coin Tokenomics Overview

The total supply of KUB Coin is 110,000,000 KUB, with a circulating supply of 68,974,776 KUB (as of March 25, 2025, according to CoinMarketCap).

According to the KUB Chain Whitepaper V4.0, on August 9, 2021, a total of 890,000,000 KUB coins were burned and destroyed to reduce the total supply from the original 1,000,000,000 KUB to 110,000,000 KUB. This was done to align with the goals of Bitkub Chain V2.0, which aimed to reduce the Gas Price from 50 Gwei per transaction to 5 Gwei per transaction, in order to encourage mass adoption.

Consequently, the distribution ratios of KUB coins according to the original allocation plan were adjusted to be appropriate for the reduced number of KUB coins. Subsequently, after discussions between the KUB Chain development team and validators, the Gas Price was increased from 5 Gwei to 25 Gwei on October 16, 2023, to balance the interests of stakeholders within the ecosystem.

The tokenomics of KUB Chain is designed to be sustainable and balanced. KUB coins are used as Gas Fees for network processing, while validators receive KUB as rewards for validating transactions and creating new blocks.
