7-Eleven Korea Pilots Digital Won Payments, Offers 10% Off

According to a report from local news outlet Enews Today, 7-Eleven stores in South Korea have begun accepting the Bank of Korea’s central bank digital currency (CBDC) as part of a limited-time trial running until June.

Bhutan Government Moves $32 Million in Bitcoin on US “Liberation Day”

According to data from Arkham Intelligence, the government of Bhutan transferred $32 million worth of Bitcoin to a new wallet today, marking its second digital asset transfer in two weeks. This transfer follows a $63 million Bitcoin transfer to three wallets last week.

Over $2 Billion Lost to Crypto Hacks and $1.63 Billion Due to Access Control Flaws in Q1 2025

According to a report shared with Cointelegraph by crypto cybersecurity firm Hacken, nearly $1.63 billion was lost due to access control attacks in the first quarter of 2025. Anmol Jain, Vice President of Investigations at AMLBot, a crypto forensics firm, told Cointelegraph that the inflated figure is largely due to the recent hacking of the Bybit crypto exchange.

The data is similar to that shared by PeckShield, another crypto cybersecurity firm. Its rival report, which excludes scams, stated that crypto hacks totaled $1.6 billion in the first quarter of 2025.
